a dirty haxor made this debian package, try it if you are brave enough.

improvements:
- no more gui locks
- compatible with latest window live messenger
- webcam sending and receiving improved, by Stéphane 'kjir' Bisinger
- fixed various bugs (reconnect counter, windows files) by various authors
- working and useful plugins (buggy were removed) by various authors (mostly user-contributed)
- proxy support (untested, by giuseppe bagnato)

UBUNTU INTREPID IBEX 8.10 <see newer threads>
UBUNTU JAUNTY JACKALOPE 9.04 <see newer threads>

NOTE YOU MAY WANT TO REMOVE YOUR CUSTOM PLUGINS THAT MAY BE OLDER THAN THE ONES INCLUDED IN THOSE PACKAGES OTHERWISE EMESENE WILL USE THE OLDER ONES. CHECK ~/.config/emesene1.0/pluginsEmesene/ DIRECTORY.

DEBIAN STABLE/UNSTABLE/WHATEVER try the packages above, jaunty version works with python2.6, the other with 2.5 only...otherwise get the source, read, learn and run

REDHAT/FEDORA use The Source until some good guy makes a package
SUSE/OPENSUSE guess what? same as above

OTHER you're smart enough to know how to do it by yourself...otherwise install ubuntu because this is really simple, and with really simple i mean REALLY REALLY REALLY simple...


SOURCE if you need the source, just search for emesene-crazy in google, if you're lazy just bzr branch lp:~c10ud/emesene/emesene-crazy

PATCHES/IMPROVEMENTS are welcome as usual, if you want you can start a new branch just make sure you are visible so everyone can benefit of your work

i tried svn co  http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~c10ud/emesene/emesene-crazy/files emesene-crazy, but didn't work
i wanna try install on fedora (9 and 10)

i need download all the files, one by one? :S

no it cannot, but obviously they go in different dirs

it works, but it's buggy...especially emesene-to-emesene, emesene-to-amsn works in example.. make sure your ports (6891 iirc) are opened and try again, or fix it

"make a diff" what does that mean? The bug/improvement list sounds just like the SVN version.
Oh and yes zshare sucks, i can't download from it unless i turn off ad-block plus
