This, maybe:

emesene 1.5.1 - "awesome" bugfix edition has been released!

So, we found some bugs and we fixed them, we hope you'll like this new version. We also added some new stuff and it's still awesome, you can take a look in here.

Bugs fixed/ New features:

    * Smoother and bugfree login (and reconnect)
    * Removed deprecated statuses (brb, lunch, phone) since WLM doesn't use them anymore
    * Last timestamp in status bar (optional)
    * Even more layout options and a new theme (gnome-colors)
    * Fixed focus problems in conversations
    * Fixed problems with notifications
    * Fixed sending message errors when talking to WLM users
    * Fixed problems managing contacts (thanks pablo, and for those wandering: unfortunately we don't support Federated Contacts)
    * Fixed broken plugins, (re)added a bit more (Facebook, Encrypt, mail checkers, dbus, old notifications: thank their authors!)
    * Various fixes here and there
    * Tons of new languages supported

I've commited a fix for that really annoying scroll of the trayicon menu under windows. I think it's a necesary fix for 1.5.1, it's really really annoying and Windows user won't have to wait for 1.5.2.

I know that in the first post Cloud said that the packaging must be done with the tarball that he posted, so I ask, Is it possible to add that little fix in windows release at least?

The patch is just a little change in the popup method:
Code:
    def on_popup_menu( self, status_icon, button, activate_time ):
        self.menu.popup( None, None, None, button, activate_time, status_icon )
lines 164 and 165 of TrayIcon.py.

Using the latest Notification.py from svn in Windows package would be awesome too, becouse it fixes the (also annoying) bug of opening new tasks in the task bar for every notification and users don't have to wait anymore and the fixes are already in svn.

Please, I (and all future Karmic users) need your attention!

Like I said in other post...there is a problem with the version of emesene in Karmic`s repo.
Not just like me, but, another 4 installations I`ve made and other people I know (a lot of people) are having problem with libmimic in it.

The problem can be seen doing this:
-Using Ubuntu Karmic Koala
-Install emesene via Software Center/apt-get/synaptic/etc (sudo apt-get install emesene)
-Log-in...see in preferences that your webcam is working ok!
-Try to send your webcam to anyone or receive webcam from anyone
-get an error saying that "You don`t have libmimic"

I saw this today in the last UbuntuWeeklyNewsletter:
"We are one week out from the 9.10 release candidate and two weeks from the final release, so the archive is now frozen and will not thaw again before release.

During the freeze, all uploads to main must be approved by a member of the release team, so if you have fixes that are important to get in and will need discussion, please do get in touch as soon as possible. Uploads to main should at this point focus on release-critical bugs only.

Uploads to universe should again follow the guidelines described here: https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel/2008-April/025259.htm
l"

So, we have short time to correct it, since Karmic will launch soon and I think we don`t want a lot of people saying that "ahh, wtf! I want webcam! f** libmimic" =P
And since we have a 1.5.1 with bugfixes it`s a very good idea to do that!

obs. I tried to manually find libmimic in apt...I found a libmimic0 and a python-libmimic..something like that...Installed both...nothing changed! It`s something with the version in Karmic`s repo!

So please, give it a good priority!
Anything you want from me, just ask! I`m glad to help!

its not a karmic issue, and its not a issue, you have to build libmimic if you want to use webcam ( search this forum for how to do it )

no package atm has a precompiled libmimic!

I think the camera does not work because I could not import pygst win32.
In the construction, said that this pygst missing, I get off (gst-python-0.10.17.tar.gz) but I have no idea how to include it. In serious linux. /Configure, make , make install, but no idea in Windows -.-.
