when I used to have msn in windows i use a program called stuff plug, one very useful feature it was that when you are running a program in full screen, ej watching a movie or something, and some one sends you a message the keyboard lights (num lock, cap lock and scroll lock) would start blinking. Is any way to make a plugin to do this? thanks

Hi! I'm very interested in this feature. I think it's a great idea! We could modify the Notify plugin to do this. (Talking about linux from this point) Can anybody confirm that http://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-keyboardleds/0.1 just works in a console and not inside X? I've seen that with python-xlib http://python-xlib.sourceforge.net this "led" on/off thing can be done in X. Unfortunately there are no examples of this, and I can't manage to do it. I think the function that must be used is : change_keyboard_control ( onerror = None, **keys ) Anyone? If not I'll keep trying, to be honest I haven't spend much time trying to do this.

i've tried xset & setled...
xset didn't work..
setled, yes, but one problem... for example with CAPS LOCK key, it turns it's led on, but after that the system active CAPS... so if you were writing at that time you will get: O a NEw MesSAGge HAs COme
the only key "useful" is scroll-lock

I'm positive you can activate the led without activating the key functionality... just don't know how to do it. Tomorrow I've got an exam (what the hell I'm doing here? ) but after I'll try to do some tests.
